French Bread Philly Cheesesteak

Ingredients

14 oz shaved steak
to taste salt and pepper
1 TBSP canola oil
1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
2 TBSP butter
1/2 red bell pepper
1/2 onion, sweet
1 pkg mushrooms, sliced
1 loaf french bread or french baguette
1/4 cup mayonnaise
8 slices provolone cheese slices

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Heat oil on medium heat in cast iron skillet
  3. Add salt and pepper to steak
  4. Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce and toss with meat
  6. Cut french bread/baguette in half length wise
  7. Spread mayonnaise on each half of bread
  8. Cut provolone cheese slices in half and place 4 halves of cheese on each bread half
  9. Spread meat onto bread halves, over the cheese
  10. Add butter, red pepper, onion, and mushrooms to skillet
  11. Season with salt and pepper, to taste
  12. Cook 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until all vegetables are soft
  13. Add vegetables on top of meat
  14. Top bread slices with remaining provolone cheese halves
  15. Bake in the over for 10 minutes
  16. Cut into slices and serve
