Pasta Sauce by Aunt Donna

Ingredients

1/2 onion, small
1/2 stock celery, chopped
56 oz tomato sauce
1/2 green pepper
1 garlic clove, large
to taste garlic salt
to taste pepper
a little olive oil
a little parsley, fresh
to taste salt
2 shakes hot pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Lightly cover bottom of medium sauce pan with olive oil over medium heat
  2. Cook onion, green pepper, and celery until soft
  3. Add garlic and tomato sauce, plus one tomato sauce can full of water
  4. Lightly cover top with parsley and garlic salt
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste
  6. Crush two shakes hot pepper flakes in your hand and add to mixture
  7. Increase temperature to HIGH and bring to boil
  8. Turn down heat and simmer for 1 - 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally
