Russian Tea Cakes

Ingredients

1 cup salted real butter
1/2 cup powder sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 jar strawberry jam or preserves

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. In a large bowl mix butter and sugar, using an electric mixer
  3. Add vanilla extract
  4. Blend in flour and salt, mixing until thoroughly combined.
  5. Roll tablespoons of dough into balls about 1 in. diameter.
  6. Place dough balls on lightly greased cookie sheet about 1 in. apart
  7. Press down center of each ball with a spoon, forming a depression
  8. Fill each with a teaspoon of preserves.
  9. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
