Beef Tenderloin in Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

2 beef tenderloin steaks
1 tsp vegetable oil
4 Tbsp butter
1/8 tsp salt
dash of pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
1 Tbsp flour
2/3 cup chicken/beef broth
1/8 tsp browning sauce

Directions

  1. In a skillet, heat oil and 2 tsp of butter over medium-high heat. Cook.
  2. Cook steak for 6-7 minutes on each side or until meat is done.
  3. Remove to a serving platter and keep warm.
  4. To pan juices, add mushrooms, onions, and remaining butter. Sauté until tender.
  5. Add flour, salt, and pepper; gradually stir in broth until smooth.
  6. Add browning sauce if desired. Bring to a boil and stir for 2 minutes.
  7. Serve over the steaks and serve.
